Ladies and gentlemen, our freedoms are what we live for. Once again, I’m writing this article on the fly. I’m free to talk to the people on the left and right of me. I still remember the times when silence wasn’t golden but required to stay safe and alive. People all over the world migrate from one part of the country or the globe to another in search of bastions of freedom to speech, opinion and choice. Many of us know and have experienced the devastating restrictions of false leadership promising true freedom but they would dictate what we can even think!
Whoever on earth tries to control our thoughts belongs to the realms of dictatorship. Freedom is such a precious thing we must endeavour to protect because it’s about living, creating, harmony and synergy. Without those freedoms, we might as well be walking zombies. There are restrictions happening the world over, is it time we all made our choices known?
The Freedom of Speech is akin to the Liberty to Fly - Worth Protecting!
Freedom of Speech
This is a fundamental freedom. We’ve all watched on the media how the recent North Korean leader’s death generated hundreds of pictures of crying and mourning citizens. But yet, the media tells us it’s not real. Anyone caught not crying or speaking ill of the event was severely punished! I remember growing up in a world where to be seen was bad enough and to say anything was taboo. Yet, for many years, I had assumed and indeed everyone in North America declared they can speak when they intend without fear of censorship, but today, I am not so sure.
I had been shown a few pieces of proposed legislation by some very ordinary, upper middle class people I didn’t know at first. It’s so long rarely will anyone take the trouble to read it. But there are experts who read these things. Thank God for very vigilant people who watch out for these things and blow the whistle on what’s bad. This particular piece of proposed legislation is very strongly supported by the political establishment…meaning the politicians but not by the ordinary people like you or I. This scary piece of documentation that seeks to curb freedom of speech even further by throttling the internet is called SOPA for short.
Since then, I have been reading a great number of alerts on the internet regarding this SOPA. And frankly, it’s got to be stopped. Now, what is this about the USA, the so called world mouthpiece for the great freedoms of the world doing an outright censorship and control of the internet. Is free speech to be stopped dead in its tracks? Yes, folks, the introduction of SOPA intends to prevent you from exercising free speech and opinions. Freedom Is World Wide!
Freedom is worldwide. In a time when even China and Russia has been slowly liberalizing their living for their citizens, it seems a whole series of active legislations have been curtailing liberty. Frankly, when visiting the US, I was shocked at the amount of border guards and all that search and rules and regulations. Is the US under some kind of siege? The oft claimed iron curtain country, China does not practice this form of severe shake downs as a typical practice! In fact, they are most welcoming.
Yet, when travelling the USA, most of the time, I feel the ability to move freely within until there is some kind of police road block…there are many the bus driver tells us. But, all in all, there are still the freedoms of choice in the US that I used to love and continue to do so. And most of the time it’s the way my friends go about their lives as though nothing has ever changed. In fact, anything that smacks of limiting their liberties get an extremely indignant response. Yes, folks, our freedom to choose is well worth protecting.
Individual Freedoms
What is freedom for the individual can stand for the freedom of the whole. This really is an issue of “all for one and one for all”. The law as I understand it use precedents to make law as a test. If the internet goes down the nebulous tubes of any draconian legislative controls, when will it ever see the light of day again? Heaven forbid if free speech is destroyed and controlled by draconian measures because of a very few people in powerful positions, what will life be like? No one will want to live under the heavy shadow of giant big brother carrying a hatchet over your head like in North Korea! Imagine, they tell you to cry and you have to wail your eye balls out.
But, there are braver individuals who stand for such freedoms of speech, opinion and choice, because they have a powerful opinion to choose to speak for freedoms. They think they speak for the liberties that many of our forefathers had the vision to win for us like the original American Constitution. One such individual that has been brought to my attention is Kevin Trudeau…read KT’s blog. Regardless of the legal travails which he battles at this time, he does appear to stand for this massive endeavour to fight for the freedoms of speech and more that I know most of us in this world want to remain liberated.
Let’s do what Abraham Hicks teaches. Keep our thoughts pure to the freedoms a hand and not the restrictions. Follow the path and keep desiring the freedoms. Build the energy that gives us our choices in life. The power grows as the energy grows. As we gather strength together, we form the movement stronger and stronger towards freedom.
