You’re already too busy and your boss tells you to do more. You’re trying to have some happy holidays, but you’re too damned busy! If that doesn’t get your goat, I don’t know what will. In this case, your boss may be a demanding client or you’re working on your own business or project. I found the best way to get less busy is to push to find the best ways to complete a process therefore saving time and effort overall.
Essentially, I developed better efficiency. However, it required me to work even more just to find that better way. It took more effort at first, but it saved tremendous time down the road. Hey, I can even go get a great restaurant meal in the middle of big or busy schedules. And yes, I managed to squeeze in some holiday shopping too.
Finding Efficiency Tips

Too Busy To Do More During The Holidays
When is the best time to find that greater efficiency? It is a matter of need. There will be times when you become so busy like when there is a sudden expansion or many clients come calling just before the holidays. All of a sudden, you must find that extra hour or perhaps you have a month of business to be delivered in ten days! Christmas is coming and you might be facing this scenario. If you find you need to do more when you’re already too busy, here are some tips:
1) Too many customers and orders all at once.
Before you turn some of them away to your competitors, consider calling each one to prioritize the work. The least critical ones for delivery can perhaps be delayed.
The slow year means that you can’t turn away any client or you’ll go bankrupt. So offer a small discount for a slower delivery, or simply ask them for an extension.
2) Find an efficiency expert in your field.
The very first instinct is to hire some people. But in a rush and during the holiday period, of course you can’t find anyone who can be helpful right off the bat. There’s no time to train the newbie.
Hiring and efficiency expert sounds easier and more expensive than it sounds right? Actually if you think outside the ‘expert advice’ box for a moment you will and can find the right experts. You’ll remember your networking with many people and you can start calling for leads for the experts to help you in your field.
A retired person with experience in your field can be invaluable. They have tips and tricks from years of experience. Use them. He or she may be an aunt or uncle or simply retired and known to a friend. Many years of experience is the true expertise. You’ll be playing Saint Nicholas too.
3) Meditate on what You want to do.
Sit down and do some yoga or exercise for a few minutes to relax those tense muscles. I tell myself, “I want to find the best way to deliver all the business projects on time to my clients.” I do this every time. Trust in yourself.
I just can’t tell you the number of times a handy new gadget seems to catch my attention, or a new system appears on the internet or a newspaper, or a piece of knowledge just simply dropped into my mind and my hands simply fly through the work! Then once in a while someone appeared and took my business to the next level.
4) In Hindsight, Plan Ahead
I thought I’d just throw this in here in case you have the resources. Just like the big and moneyed businesses do, plan one, sometimes 2 years ahead. Plan your entire program. Include advertising, promotions, products or services, delivery and manpower. Just take a look at what Walmart does.
Oh, yes, do it with all the joy and knowing that the holiday seasons bring gifts for you and your organisation.
Be Thankful and Enjoy Being So Busy
Be thankful you got this busy. It might just save your financial bacon. By the way, did you ever stop a moment and realize that this is the result of all that hard work and wishes to get more money, more clients, or raise the bar to your work? It really is be careful what you wish for as you may get it.
These are just some simple tips to help you make your life more enjoyable. This can help you spend less money trying to replace the hair you have pulled out from frustration or have fallen off in despair. My wrinkles have names from a certain event I can still remember. They can take many months of diligently working them out of my face. The hair takes over a year to grow back, if they ever do.
Have a Happy and Prosperous Holiday Season.
May you grow closer toward your goals and dreams.
