Whoops! This looks unfamiliar. A cross roads I have not come across. And neither has my driving companion tonight. You see, he is at a cross roads of life and I was trying to help him navigate his way through this night’s drive.

At A Cross Roads

Cross Roads

On the drive home from helping out in my brother’s restaurant, I happened to bump into a friend – let’s call him Andy – and gave him a ride home. He did not normally smile much but this time something else was different. He was pensive and appeared to be trying to ask me something. But my senses told me this would be no ordinary request. He was most definitely at a cross roads in his life.

Sometimes we have our focus has been to simply focus on our problems while everything else around us built in a way that become walls. At other times many doors open and we’re confused about which one to take. Then to make matters worse, when we try to see our way, everything has become unfamiliar. Have you ever come out into the world and then found that there are so many possibilities that it stymies our ability to make a decision? This was Andy’s plight.

Family and Life Conditions Are Incomprehensible

At first, I thought of comforting him with sympathy. “No, never do that”, the voice in my head said. I should instead emphatise but be in control of this situation. Andy needs a pillar, not a crutch.

His family was a confusion of who wants to be in charge. But no one wants to be responsible for anything. They want cash, but not the problems. They want the house, but not the bills. They want the child, but not looking after him. In fact life at home and at work had become so irreverent that a good meal became a problem. Cooking was faux pas. Talk about a loud, noisy but empty household!

He had attracted to himself and lived a life he hated. He had buried himself with what he hated and didn’t know where to turn to first. Perhaps, tonight was the universe’s answer for him. Tonight was his first attempt at breaking a habit he did not want. But, it is really all up to him.

Helping Andy’s Decision

First, I needed Andy to comprehend his own situation. As he recounted his story, his real confusion was because he felt trapped and unable to explore his own desires. He was bouncing around trying not to anger anyone and as a result, not focusing on what made him happy with his life.

Important Answers From Andy

* I asked Andy what he wants from the situation, he said he didn’t know.
* When he does not know what he wants, he is focusing on the past or what is around him.
* He feels trapped and scared thereby becoming unable to help himself focusing on his past or what is around him.

My Suggestions to Andy

Make a list of things or situation he does not like.
Using the above list, make a list of things or situation that he would like.

Homework for Andy

For every item he does not like, create a counter of what he like.
For every thought he does not like, create what he likes.

Truth for Andy

He needs to wake up from his largesse. He had been in essence hiding or ‘sleeping’ for several years. When dear Rip Van Winkle woke up, his world had changed.
We cannot change others or what they think. Only they can change themselves by changing their thoughts as a start.
If one does not want to repeat the same old same old, then one needs to change the status quo. The alternative is insanity. Unless that is, that person really is insane and expects to get water from a well with a broken bucket all the time.
By changing our thoughts, we energetically send our vibrations and attract things that we want and what makes us feel good.
And to feel good is the first thing Andy wants. His eyes lit up when he thought of relief and joy. His emotional turmoil is at a point where his mind is a Hydra of many screaming heads.

I brought Andy home as we completed this little lesson for the cross roads of life, his life. At least there was a slight smile and a slight if resigned smile on his face. He said thank you. Good luck Andy. The Law of Attraction can give you what you ask for.

Feeling good is the driveway to our desired manifestations.
