Rising Star

It’s a great feeling being a rising star. What is strange about it is that you won’t feel you’ve done anything significant until someone else tells you you have with an accolade.

Remember when we have our heads low looking out for the next guy or the next step? Or more often than not, we have our noses to the grind stone getting everything on our ‘to do’ list done. Anyone in such a position seldom notices the progress, only the process.

But then, in this crowded world, invariably someone will notice. And what happens is sometimes it’s the boss or someone of importance. Then, out of the blue you get a pat on the back with ‘Great Job’ and even an award as accolade.

Accept the Appreciation

It can take awhile, but then it will slowly sink in. Everyone’s reaction will be different. I’ve seen people burst out crying tears of joy. Then there are the non-chalant guys who says “…think nothing of it” while their insides are ready to explode with joy. Sometimes someone just can’t accept it and runs away. Not everyone actually enjoys it and celebrates it.

You see, it’s that Law of Attraction again. You enjoy and celebrate the event and you’ll get more to celebrate about. Perhaps there will be more such accolades. Or maybe a promotion. Even a cash reward is possible. You see, you’ll start to feel more worthy about yourself and feel really lucky too. The world will start to look up. You see, in my experience, such accolades are milestones to your success. Mark them well and you’ll travel more miles and far faster too. It’s just like driving a sports car of progress rather than a beat up old clunker that keeps breaking down.
