It’s Your Fault: Take Responsibility!

Happy New Year! Time for your New Year's Resolutions!

Let me be clear, I cannot live your lifestyle for you. You live the live you make. So, what I have to say next will irritate and anger many. But, I am not sorry for giving you tough love instead of coddling you. If I tell you things are fine and will be alright, I’ll be cursing you to a life you already have.

It’s your Fault. You are responsible for your own actions. If you’re successful millionaire, that’s your fault. If you’re broke or sick, that’s your fault. Recognise that it’s your fault for anything and everything that happens in your life, and you’ll start to be responsible. When you take responsibility for your life, you know that you caused what has happened to you. You are in your own predicament of your making! Take responsibility and you can do what it takes to get what you really want to achieve.

People, listen up! It takes work. That’s ‘W-O-R-K’. It takes total commitment to get out of old lousy habits. It takes even more commitment to get into the new productive habit to counter the way of living that you’ve been belly aching about. So, get down and dirty, roll up your sleeves and get to work!

Here are 5 steps you can use immediately to get your New Year’s Resolution. I use it these steps when I want to get myself and my group to focus on the task/s at hand. Use them. They are tried and true.

1) It’s Good To Want It But Why?
What’s your life philosophy? Why do you want what you want? Is your life philosophy making you unhappy because you are feeling that you can’t have what others seem to have? For example, you see that guy driving a Rolls Royce. Your boss lives in that 20,000 sq. ft. mansion. Your neighbour down the street goes on an annual vacation. Is it just because of jealousy or because you feel you can’t have those things?

You see, it may not be the things you want. It is just because you feel lousy about not having luxuries. The first step is to get that philosophy, that why you want to be or have that lifestyle. Will that lifestyle make you feel happy? You have found that why when you have that warm, fuzzy feeling that gets you excited and want to roll up your sleeves and get to work on it immediately. Tip: it may be simpler than you think – it may be money, wealth, family, health, etc.

2) Focus On The First Important Thing In Front Of You
You’ve found your why that gives you that yahoo feeling. Understand that it can be a journey of getting there. Before I get you to write your journal or plan, you must do one very important thing. Failure to do this is an automatic cause of failure.

Ask yourself: What is the very first thing in front of you that appears to be in your way. It seems failure to do this will stop you cold!
- Is it your physique or your health?
- Is it your financial situation – being broke or in need of money?
- Is it because mum and dad are always on your case?
- Is it because uncle George in your mind is telling you about failure?

In short, work on your mindset first. If there are negatives, get rid of it. Nothing must stop you. Build your character. But, yes if your health is really so bad you can’t even walk, then do what it takes to get healthy. In fact, turn on all your attention and energy to what stops you. It might be that you turn away and do something else in your life. If you have debts, deal with it deliberately so that it begins to free your energy to make money. These are the very first steps to any success.

3) Write A Journal: Don’t Just Memorise
This is a promise to yourself about what you are achieving. So, to promise yourself, do something that will remind you over and over again daily. Get yourself a 3 ring binder as you will be adding things to do here. Write all your dreams and things you want to achieve down in Blue Ink on White Paper. Your mind is very responsive to these colours and this way of doing things.

In this book you will put your dream book. You will form your business ideas and may even put your plan of action here. You can also add your list of customers into this book. Remember, this is your dream book and they will all form part of your dream.

What I’ve found is that these dreams have tremendous power. I’ve watched as a dying friend literally came to life. I’ve watched people rise from abject poverty, being in total debt to become incredibly wealthy. I’ve seen people’s lives change in various degrees but, the positivity generated become the stuff of dreams, from which they are derived.

4) Stop Blaming: Appreciate
You think you don’t? Well, when you criticise someone or something especially if it’s not hurting you, that’s blaming. The habit of blame will simply put you on the path of pushing things away. Why do you criticise? Is it because you can’t have it, e.g. someone won the lottery and you blame that you have no luck. Someone got a car and you blame your lack of money.

Try appreciating things and events around you. In fact, applaud and give true heart-felt congratulations to someone who has won something or achieved their dreams. It’s amazing how that energy gets you thinking the successful achiever’s way.

5) Get To Work On Your Dream With Full Devotion
This fact will astound you when it happens. You will absolutely love what you do. If you’ve never loved work in your life before, it may scare you at first. Later, you’ll find you can’t live without doing it. You get that fantastic thrill and eagerness when things start to work out. You get better and better at it.

Again, remind and build your mind and belief. How do you do this? It’s very simple. Read great books. Listen to great audios and videos. Join really great clubs. Join a mastermind group or create one. Find and get buddied with one or more mentors.

One thing you will enjoy is the power you will have found in yourself. Do it and prosper whatever your ideas of wealth may be. Enjoy your resolution for the New Year in 2010.

The Impact Of Sudden Wealth

Lottery Winning

Sudden unexpected wealth hits the recipient hard simply because life will suddenly change. It doesn’t matter if it’s from a recently deceased unknown wealthy aunt or the lottery win.

The impact of change appear to be due to two main reasons:

a) the size of the lottery win;

A smaller win simply means a lot of calculating what you can or cannot blow money on. The entertainment is more moderate of course. Perhaps paying off all debts and a modest home, car, children’s education, investment amount, set up a business and perhaps a holiday is in store. It may not even be enough to quit your day job yet.

A huge win like those $50 million dollar wins in Lotto Max will like create the opportunity to have a drastic life changing event. Yes, winners are often quoted as quitting jobs and retiring or seeking the best medical treatment and perhaps a new larger house, helping out some great supportive friends and family.

b) the mental readiness of the winner.

It is perhaps this point that will make or break the winner of lotteries. Sudden wealth is often squandered or worse, the winner goes into more debt than winnings simply because they cannot fathom the value of their money. It has been well documented that up to four out of five lottery winners, large or small lose their fortunes and wind up with unpaid massive debts.

However, the remaining winners are far wiser and careful. They are more strategic and think things over with lots of advice from a variety of sources. However, most of them simply play it safe and conserve their fortune. Imagine trying to live off the so called “safe” investments that pay less than the costs of inflation and taxes combined. They are whitling away their cash through the years.

Then, there are the rare ones who actually plan and develop some long term strategies to actually build more wealth. They only live on a modest amount and invest the rest in well diversified, growth oriented businesses. In the future, they do become even wealthier and literally live the lives of the very wealthy.

Personal Mastery Over Money

Who rules? Your money or you? Like most people who are slaves of not having enough money they are working towards insufficiency. They work, mortagage, borrow, then pay and pay for their credit. Actually, it should be they pay the interest and live on borrowed time. Eventually, inflation will and not enough savings and income will reach out and choke the lifestyle out of you.

The people who become the envy of the world have usually become wealthy by building their wealth one dollar at a time. They plan their businesses for full income over a period of two to five years. They sacrifice and not sqaunder their money. They invest and live off those proceeds while saving most of it for investment. This is the way of successful people.

A lottery win simply lets them build their wealth even faster. But come to think of it, could it have been the Law of Attraction working out well for them in the first place? Winners in business or the lottery are always positive about being a winner. But it is simply unfortunate that many lottery winners have not developed their personal mastery over their money like the successful people have.

Life after winning the lottery does change significantly for most winners. But it is after a time of perhaps two to five years that we can see who the true winners are. They are the ones who have expanded their new found wealth even further with well laid out plans and sacrifice before truly enjoying the fruits of their wealth.

Go Getter Work Ethic

Winners Can Crow Their Success

We’ve all met them from time to time. But sadly, we’ve also all been guilty of misunderstandung these go getters. What we should all do instead is to emulate their work ethic.

The true productive go getter let no one steal a dream. This dream is theirs and no one can dissuade them.  No negative event or apparent setback can turn them away from their directed purpose.

Tiger Woods practiced golf for years and years to become one of the greatest golfers of all time. Ayrton Senna devoted his life to racing cars and became one of the best Formula One  car racers of all time. Bill Bartmann went from abject poverty to billionaire and one of America’s wealthiest several years ago. They all have extremely powerful work ethic for success.

Are Go Getters Insane?

To the uninitiated, people who appear to be so obsessed with achieving their successes appear to be odd, unusual or almost mad. That obsession and willingness to sacrifice by not enjoying the pleasures of life for years to develop their desires.

They get to such a pitch of proficiency it seems no one else can match their prowess. This is what makes people think what they do the first development years is sheer insanity. They are driven in a way not one in a thousand people can understand.

Olympians train similarly hard but it is not only to win but to appear at the Olympics is their main desire. But many to dvelop their lives around winning the gold medal. That is the way of a champion. They do not know how to give up. In fact, they do not end their journey until they reach the pinnacle or severe injury or death prevents them.

These are the people who surrender their home comforts, suffer great injuries, endure thousnads of hours of training, development and honing their skills. Just like a knife honed to razor sharpness to cut silk.

The Results Are Their Rewards

 The way of the champion is a journey like few have undertaken. My cheering accolade and appreciation is for them. See a stadium or a nation full of adoring fans and that is how I feel for them. That is the way of life I emulate. I want to be a champion. Nothing less will do.

But if one only knew what the go getter really does to reach their rewards, no one would begrudge them anything. By the way, those who begrudge what these successful champions have achieved are loosely termed losers. That’s what my mentors used to tell me and at first I was appaled by their words. However, I have come to understand that it simply meant they were unwilling to do what it takes to get what they say they dream about.

The results of great achievements are reasons to celebrate because, if you really desire to achieve your dream, then reach out and associate with those winners. Mix and mingle with the winners. Learn their ways and emulate them. Do what they do and you’ll get what they got.

Home Based Business

How sweet it is to make extra money during the recession and better yet, to have more than extra money now. We’ve all been tremendously tempted to get into the first get rich quick idea regardless of what it is as long as it is pretty much something we can wrap our minds around. When these apparent ‘opportunities’ come around during our panic, it is only meant for panicking people and we find out after shelling out our heavily borrowed moneys that it’s all just shiny wrapping with nothing inside. Get real! Sit down and plan it carefully, as best you can. Only then does it start to work out for the best for you.

Home Based Business

Conventional “wisdom” says save your money but you should make extra money now during the recession instead. Yes, you already ‘know’ this but do you? If have not put this home based business idea into practice with the greatest effort, you are very simply lying to yourself, your family and anyone else you are meekly trying to interest in your product or service.

Fiscal prudence is typically advised but several recessions later I can very definitely say that to cut back and simply sit on your meager assets in order to preserve them is absolute folly. You see, if you fall back and slow down your investment and income, then you are missing the big financial boat. You have often heard much about more millionaires being created during the recession. This fact holds true in almost any country. It’s those who are totally earnest and courageous enough to stand up and be one of the champions of your own industry, who reap the rewards – big time.

This is what I do whenever a slow down comes around:

1) Don’t Panic!
Start re-examining my investment portfolio; assess for further investment or divestment. That something to invest in must include you. Invest in your personal development. A strong and believing mind is one of power.

2) Locate a star industry performer you can live with.
Search for stable or rising industries to invest in or build a new cash generating business around. Preferably, this business should have a management you can trust. You must like and use the product which is extremely unique. The compensation is great for your situation.

3) Knowledge is power.
Educate myself in the new industry. Ideally, the company you have signed up with is not just another job but has powerful upside potential for you. Great companies that are set up to for the home based business owner will have excellent training and mentorship.

4) Hire people (if necessary).
Most small or home based businesses are really meant to be operated by one person – you. However, if you are in such a wonderful situation where growth has necessitated one or more employees, hire them with the relevant skills for the business.

5) Build your portfolio.
In the relevant and more profitable industries as the economy rises, you will want to expand your portfolio in it to ride the wave of prosperity even more. You may be using leverage. Of course network marketing models (there are many) can allow you to work this effectively.

6) Work my butt off.
To build wealth and diversify when cash allows, I must work it harder and pay into it more and more energy to make it work better and generate income faster. It is a 2 to 5 year plan here. If it takes more training, I do it. If it needs more know-how, I find it. Regardless of the needs, I will invest money that I have earned back into the business.

7) Cashing out with a nice profit.
Divest some of my portfolio after a strong rise in financial performance and if possible, do it all over again. You see, a strong business with excellent upside potential will always have a powerful and financially lucrative market for it. Sometimes, I will divest some of my portfolio simply because it’s time to get extra money now while I can enjoy some of it and there is always another opportunity just around the corner.

8) Get some quality time with family.
With a lot of cash in hand, yes, it’s time to reward yourself and your family to a treat. How about some great holiday travels? How about a scholarship for the kids? A new home might be great. It’s your choice, but NEVER get into more debt than your finances can handle!

9) Final tip – I really enjoy doing this!
I certainly hope this post helps whoever reads it and begins his or her exploration into the one home based business as your vehicle to greater riches. Now, this is not to say you should get into make money fast schemes. But it may be as simple as making enough money to pay for some simple expenses like your gas and electricity or college or perhaps a new car or even your mortgage. Here’s wishing you prosperity and achieving your financial freedom in your endeavours.

Achieving Financial Freedom Fireside Chat.

“Dad, what was that you said you wanted to do for us.” It’s called achieving financial freedom. I said looking into this twinkling pair of eyes. He was seven (and a number of years ago) and getting very curious about many things including money and belongings (as in his toys).

Popping a marshmallow in his mouth, we continued our chat sitting cosily by the fireplace. You see, not too long ago, after you were born, I didn’t need to work too much if I didn’t want to. We had enough money to get what we needed.

Daddy had worked for many years and made enough money, stashed away so that Daddy, Mummy and you do not have to worry about not having enough money. We would always have enough. That is what we could call financial freedom.

“You mean if I want that new Thomas Train Set I could have it?” That and good food, good schools good clothes, a roof over our heads. Things like that.

“But right now, we only rent and Mummy bought another house again. And why doesn’t Mummy want to live with us?” That’s the way things get to sometimes you know. Sometimes adults are like kids and the real kids have to go without many things. So that’s why I want to achieve that financial freedom again so that we can have all that stuff we want and need. “Including a house?” Yes…

“But Dad, how did you become financially err… freedom – free? You work in your own company now right?” Yes, and did you like the allowance when you do some little work for me? Well, it’s the same thing if you do it over and over again and then I get more people and more business. Within some years I can again make enough money if I’m careful to invest it properly, to achieve financial freedom again.

“Dad, I like being here with you. Mummy never talks to me like that when I visit her.” And another thing about financial freedom. The freedom part gives you time to do what you want if you wish for it.

“You mean I get to play with you more?” You already have your Dad most of the day, but yes, we’ll be doing more things together. It’s very important for a family to be doing more things together, like fishing.

“I love fishing. I get so many fish. Can I help you get financial freedom?” Well, you can wish for it with all your heart and be the best kid a Dad could ever have.

“Then I wish for it with all my heart that we achieve financial freedom.” Thank you baby. Now, it’s two more nights to Christmas. Time for bed buddy.

Mums who wanted to stay home and raise their children so they can provide a better quality of life had to look for another stream of income from home.

For a lot of mums it is not an option, they want and need to provide a safer and a healthier home for their families.

And I hope to impart this Advisory to you all.

In order to understand the commitment and dedication the mothers provide for their family, one need to understand that the family structure and its environment within and outside is so important that it reflects so many factors of life such as:health, education, friendship, relationship, work, business and living life to one’s freedom and experience.

Without the experience of a good and a balanced family structure, the pain or unpleasant experiences inflicted on the individuals can and will affect one’s entire life.

Mothers naturally have the unconditional love and feelings for their children just like Mother Earth, who has provided for us.

In order to continue to provide for her family, most mothers operate their businesses from their home.

Keeping Schedules and Multi-tasking

I want to share some of the myths that one must be aware of when mothers are starting any home based business.

You need to schedule to keep your work from your house chores! If you think even for a moment this is a home based business and you can operate your business and look after the house chores at the same time, you are going to be BURNT OUT!

Believe me, when you are burnt out it is difficult to focus on your business.

Mothers are great at multi-tasking by nature and culturally expect them to be super mums.

This is another factor to be considered when mums multi-task.  Multi-tasking has been the way to operate.  Multi-tasking is a norm today, but the focus and effectiveness on our business or our family or our health has largely been compromised.

No Security

I am not here to discourage any mums from operating their home-based business; on the contrary I encourage each and everyone to think out of the 9 to 5 box. 

The 9 to 5 security no longer exists in your business, but the fruit of your labor is yours to enjoy.

When was the last time you did not hear of someone you knew not getting laid off or is still looking for a job?

The care and attention you give to your business is like taking care of your children.  You are always watching over them.  Your nurturing is endless.  Similarly, your business will thrive to your satisfaction and endless bliss. If you were working for someone, no matter how much you nurture and care, you might end up like a lot of people today in this economy – getting laid off.

Responsibility

Owning your business is also being responsible – for the ups and downs of the situation, instead of blaming others or the conditions, one needs to focus on solutions.

Sometimes things do not appear as it should and seem impossible and difficult. Remember to focus on the solutions.

We are energy beings, where we focus our energy that’s what we achieve.

Fault or mistakes does not exist.  What we would have considered as a fault is altering our perception of something or someone that is being different then we would have liked it to be.

Mistakes are excuses for us not to move forward. We might for whatever reasons be fearful of someone, something, failure or success or the unknown and are reluctant to take the steps to make changes.

No matter how we react, whether we are reluctant or un-corporative the changes always occur. We are not allowed to resist change.  Changes are part of life the cycle that makes us who we are. When we resist changes we deprive ourselves the opportunity to grow and our personal growth gets hindered.

When mums decide to operate their home based business they grant themselves the opportunity to grow not only personally but also professionally.

Mindset

Home-based business is a life long journey; there is no turning back but only working forward to greater success.  Success comes with work, dedication, focus and a great desire. What didn’t seem to work perhaps requires you to open another door other times it simply requires you to be persistent.

To achieve anything or success in life one must desire it.  The desire must be passionate.  Usually one will have greater chance of success when one has a desire and a want. The wants and the desires must be strong and emotionally charged.

Mindset holds the key that opens the secret to achieving success. Mums, a positive mindset is important. Negative mindsets sabotage your success before you get the chance to achieve them.  The mindset is like a blue print. If the blue print is misinformed, the result can be far away from your desire.

Mums, some days the business can overwhelm you but remember to take a breather, maybe a random walk, a walk to the mall or a movie or even simply listening to some music. Do whatever it takes to break that tired and stagnant energy.

Open-mindedness and courage

These 2 terms play a great role in helping us succeed beyond our dreams.

Open-mindedness gives us to learn, to adapt, to practice and to implement tools and systems from those that have walked the trail of tears.  Learning from the experts will save you great deal of time and stress. The period to achieving your success is shortened, giving you more time to experience success.   Be willing to learn and be coach able, often what we have learnt and developed in our lives does not work for our business.

Courage is the will to get up and go regardless of the fears you may have. Being courageous does not mean being fearless. To the contrary, being frightened and yet forging ahead is courage. There will be many things, events and people who will get in your way. But the biggest creator of obstacles or a clear road is YOURSELF.

The rewards are endless and priceless. You learn and develop so much more that no amount of preparation from elementary, high schools, college or university would ever prepare you a real life experience that you can actually feel, touch and be.
