Have great manners by remembering your Emily Post. Worldwide manners means respect and carry great attitude by endearing yourself and appreciating your hosts. By humbling yourself, many customs will respect you and hold you in high esteem.

This is actually incredible fun. To have great manners anywhere in the world really is to appear to have wonderful worldwide manners. First, you must know that Emily Post is a must read as a how to for manners, but you will still be quite at a loss out there in the big wide world. Second, be a great observer and size up the situation before you act or speak. Third, be willing to ask about what you must do and how to perform certain mannerisms. So, the ideal is to instead of possibly committing a faux pas, you’ll be endearing yourself to your hosts.

Faux Pas

Arrogance equals the saying ‘pride comes before a fall’. Travel with a high and mighty attitude and you’re guaranteed people treating you with caution at first. But later, should you get yourself into a difficult situation with some locals who may take exception t your behaviour it may be quite a sticky situation.

Remember this point of view. When you visit countries or people from other places of the globe, there are customs and behaviours that may be the exact opposite to what you may have expected. Good manners are typically local, not international…unless you’ve been living in a cave all your life.

The faux pas is I speak of is the missteps many tourists or indeed business people make when they travel abroad expecting to arrive like a knight on great white steed. I’ve got news for you, you go there as a guest and therefore, behave like one. Otherwise, you will have insulted people who do not understand your ways.

Carry Great Attitude and Copy Your Hosts’ Behaviours

First impressions count big time in many cultures. If you’re visiting countries or if you have visitors, or you live in a multi-cultural environment of metropolitan cities today, this aspect of observation is all important. Manners and mannerisms are often dependent on the localities of even people from the same nation. The Chinese have many cultural mannerisms despite having the same manners related to royal dictates. Go to India and you’ll be stymied by how many different customs there are. One can’t learn them all. Therefore, simply put, you can observe and ask politely how you should do certain things. Believe me your host or guide will be most pleased as you honour them with such a request.

The one great thing which I have learnt is to treat others you visit like they are the great person. Your hosts are your ‘superiors’. By humbling yourself, many customs will respect you and hold you in high esteem. You see, more ancient cultures will consider a visitor who respects and gives appreciation to their way of life and customs despite your apparent power or wealth is someone who is powerful and secure…like a noble to be upheld. You will also notice your hosts have done the exact same thing.

Let’s use the Far East people as examples of manners. Just turn the clock back fifteen years and very few western people knew that to just use a firm hearty handshake, a very loud and enthusiastic welcome and then hand a business card at your counterpart is very boorish behaviour. That immediately put your host or visitor ill at ease with you. “Do I want to do business with such a rude personality?” Remember, this shows your attitude.

Today, most people understand that to be polite yet assertive simply requires you to smile just slightly, bow when you reach out your hands for a gentle handshake, sometimes even two handed, and then hand your business card with two hands, with the card backed by a card container (or not). It takes practice and some observation to get perfect. But you see, people of those cultures will respect you for respecting their culture. Knowing the relative rank of the person greeting you helps. If he or she is considered of higher rank, you bow deeper. But, it is always good form if you bow at least as low as your counterpart or lower. Carry great attitude by appreciating your hosts and you will seldom err.

Overlooked networking prospects are unwelcome callers. Avoid leaving money on the table and use networking etiquette like a business meeting with annoying calls. I hope the above 5 points helps you. I find making this a networking opportunity a habit that pays off very well.

I can guarantee that you’ve overlooked networking prospects. They have been coming right to you and sitting right under your noses when you least expect them. In fact, more than 99% of the people I know reject them outright. In fact, you and I have been guilty of calling them derogatory names and often yelling at them to go do something nasty too. In fact, they are the very people you claim to hate but we have all emulated them. In fact, you are not networking enough if you’ve not experienced all of that yourself. And you are literally leaving money on the table if you don’t do this!

Welcome The Unwelcome Callers

Overlooked Networking Prospects Who Calls You

Now who am I talking about? They are the annoying @*** who call you at any time they deem fit or perhaps it was someone you met somewhere. Maybe he or she got your name from an internet profile of yours. Sometimes it may have been a contest form you filled out or someone referred you. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, we’ve all been called by some stranger or someone with an mlm company trying to pry cash loose from your hands.

You may have been annoyed, but what if you used a little networking etiquette to get this person’s attention? And if you take a few seconds and think, you are actually in the middle of a business meeting! Although it’s not one you initiated or was prepared for, as a home business person, this is really a wonderful opportunity, isn’t it? Just imagine, someone called you and you didn’t really spend a time or hours of calling to get a real life cold caller! Well, maybe you may already know this person but at the very least, you have made a person to person contact. Why not make the best use of this business opportunity? This is a real life prospect.

Well, of course those telephone operators from banks, credit card companies and telephone companies are seldom of any value. However, I would still strongly use them as valuable practice.

And what is it you should do? I thought you’d be interested…

1) Think you are the top gun at recruiting newcomers and the other guy will like and respect you (or something similar).

When you practice this kind of behaviour, at all times, you are giving out the vibes that you want people to accept you in a certain way. The vibes you project are the vibes you generally get back. Try it on people who call you to buy something from them. You’ll be pleasantly surprised that they are more than willing to speak with you.

Hocus, pocus you think? Well it might be so. Just try it with trust in yourself and you’ll be amazed and the number of people who actually treat you over the phone so well. At the very least, you will get a decent and respectable conversation most of the time. The nasty conversations are fewer than more.

2) Attitude of Expectation.

Develop an attitude where everyone who calls you is a prospect. It’s amazing how you find the right words, tonal quality and effect over the phone. You already know about the attitude where you speak with a smile and standing up if you have to. The person at the other side can ‘feel’ or hear the tiny nuances that gives him the same feeling. You can feel this same effect of the other person too right?

What you do here is really to get a positive response to you. I won’t go through any more of the nitty gritty, but I think you understand and can take it from here.

3) Your Air Of Authority/ Expertise.

You must be the expert in your field…or at least appear to be so. Use a professional, polite and friendly manner and people will listen to what you have to say. No one will listen to someone who is wasting their time. Would you want to talk to the reception when you need to understand the technical know-how of a product installation?

Well, if you belong to an organization, you will probably have the training to have you say some things about the company. It is vital you know your product, company and benefits inside and out. It gives you confidence and appear to be an expert in that company.

4) Make your contact memorable.

Make the next business meeting. Yes, it’s up to you to make the very next opportunity or excuse to call that person up. Do they all want to go to the next step? NO. Some callers will be quite taken aback by your approach as they are not expecting that. But one rule of thumb when speaking with anyone is to make a memorable personal contact.
Dump the nasty people of course.

5) Use the techniques on your own calls.

You may be pleasantly surprised to find that now, when you are calling your own prospect list, you will find your own abilities or vibes or strike rate to be significantly better. Somehow, you have developed the attitude or vibes to become a far more effective and confident sales person.

I hope the above 5 points helps you. This is not exhaustive of course. I find making this a networking opportunity a habit that pays off very well. There are many super network marketers and sales people out there. Some are true multi-millionaires too. But I bring out this point simply because it is very rarely used. I’ve tried it myself and it is worth the time and energy for the success it brings.

It’s a networking nightmare when he follows you all over the place. You’re having a nice conversation with someone and he cuts in. This isn’t a dance hall. You turn and he’s spitting words and saliva into your face. I so sorely wanted to plant my wine glass into that noisy and dark hole called his mouth. What’s your worst networking nightmare?

10 Bad Networking Etiquette Behaviours

Nightmare Networker

The following bad networking behaviours are really the biggest never dos. They guarantee you a very miserable reputation. At the very least, no one will ever invite you back. At worst, well it’s up to the repeat offender.

1) Bad breath – That will keep someone a couple of steps back. All good prospects will go far, far away like a fairy tale.

2) Too pushy – Enough is enough. Someone has to go away, you let them go away. Stop chasing the poor guy or gal. It might not be you and it might. So what?

3) Following someone around – Is that person in puppy love? Unless he or she has a cold nose, long floppy ears and barks, don’t expect to be petted.

4) Butting in on conversations – Two or more people are having a conversation and someone charges in and makes introductions and simply takes over the conversation.

6) Back biting – Putting someone or a company or a product down maliciously is never good form. This will come biting the biter right back on the backside. No one will ever want to associate with you unless they are of the same ilk.

7) Bad language – Foul language in a cocktail party full of genteel folk? Are you mad? Might get that offender tossed out.

8) Badly dressed – It’s only good manners to dress up well, or at the very best in good taste for the occasion – business dress for business networking and party dress for party times. Coming to a networking party reeking of manure and dressed in jeans will not make you very popular but very well known.

9) Being very late – May not be very good for some networking functions because you’d be a big distraction. Also, it’s disrespectful.

10) Loud mouthed – Boorish behaviour is totally out of this world and out of kind acknowledgements too. Wonder why eyes turn away from such people?

My Disappearing Act

There must be a million ways to get away from that networking nightmare following me around and not offend anyone else but here is what I began with. After trying various methods, it worked. But alas, he still didn’t get the message.

1) Polite behaviour – I excused myself. This not so gentlemanly person followed. Now, was he suffering from some puppy love infection?

2) Turned my attention to someone else – He was immediately in my way and in my face. Words and saliva was spraying away in my face – bad breath included.

3) Excused myself determinedly and spoke to someone – Nightmare networker butted in. Both me and new person are very annoyed and moved away in opposite directions.

4) Grabbed my arm and stuffed business card in my hand – I nearly screamed through a forced smile. I told him to stay away. He gave stupid sneering laugh and tried to sell me his latest and greatest mlm ‘opportunity’. He followed as I dropped his card walked away.

5) Thought up plan – I sat between two gentlemen and smiled at them, “Some help guys?” Like clockwork nightmare appeared and his bad language to these gentlemen got himself booted out of the premises.

And would you know it? That nutcase was milling about outside the building chatting away on his cell phone. I don’t know which mlm company he’s got into but woe betide anyone trying to keep this person in check. Well, all’s well that ends well. My two very gallant and new gentlemen friends escorted me outside and he took off in his car immediately never to be seen or heard of again. It’s great to be relieved of any nightmare especially the live living networking kind.

When you stare at the mirror in the morning and are still sleepily cursing yourself, ask another question,” Are you open for more opportunities?” If you have been berating yourself over your lack of success, it simply means something is amiss. And in all likelihood, you have been missing your opportunities. You’ve been actively letting them flow by and inactively trying to build whatever it is you are doing now. This not networking wisely.

Letting Opportunities Pass By

Opportunities Flowing By

Let’s begin with what you are likely to be missing. A steady stream of people who approach you and those whom you approach do not seem to be clicking with your vibes. You know what I mean. They ask, you say no. You ask, they say next time. And you’re both passing each other by.

You read an email about the next great big money making opportunity. Perhaps you’re also into dating or fishing and the e-mail you just tossed into the spam pile may have been what you have been asking for many months!

You get angry when the credit card company offers you a higher limit. Or perhaps they ask you to change your credit card into one with a different reward system. You’re not sure about it and you get rude and tell that young lady on the phone to get out of your face.

You get the picture. Shutting opportunities off has been going on for a long time because it makes you feel powerful and in control. This control is the false assumption that to tell the other person to go somewhere else is power. You have been telling your opportunities to go elsewhere too. And opportunities are also wealth.

Opportunity Is Wealth

If you realise what I’m about to say already, then you know that you need to do an about turn. Opportunity, when it comes is really the opportunity to wealth. Many may not appear to be what you are seeking initially, but because of your nature, or call it your vibes, this opportunity comes to you. It may be a person trying to sell you something. But do you realise that this person may be your next best customer?

Publications or storefront window dressings can also help you generate ideas or become a general information system. If you’ve been looking at them with disdain because you still insist your products are better even though, they are generating far more sales. But what are they doing that you aren’t? Borrow or copy their ideas. Don’t turn them away. Just because you haven’t been actively searching for those ideas, doesn’t mean these ideas are not looking to present you with a message. In all likely hood, you have been searching for them with your sub-concious thoughts. Isn’t it time you started generating much more business?

Someone sends you something through the mail or e-mail. Take a good look. If it seems too good to be true, find out about it – just for the fun of it. In fact, keep a sense of humour and look closely. Study their rationale. Is someone making so much money out of this?

And perhaps the most important of all is your own feelings. If you are constantly putting everything down like big old grouch, then you know very well you must become that wonderful likeable person everyone wants to know and get to know. You see those people you’ve been telling “NO” to are actually opportunities. It may be what they are selling or they may become your customer or your reference or become a friend and ally.

Therefore the very next time someone comes around and offers you, “Are you open to more opportunities (or income, etc.),” Say, “Yes, of course!” Investigate it and make a friend. It’s a numbers game. Network widely. Done with a relish of fun, and you’ll be the wealthier for it and making money.

Going out to meet and greet people stops being fun. You have social networking fatigue. No, it’s not a disease although I know of psychologists who are quite interest in this phenomenon (their term, not mine). You must have known the feeling. It’s when you feel totally deflated. No one seems to take you seriously when you’re out and about in networking circles. The fun index has reached zero.

“Parties Are Tiresome”

Feeling Deflated Like a Baloon? You may have Social Networking Fatigue.

When you say that, parties are tiresome. You’re there. That is the moment that you acknowledge something you’re doing is wrong. There is no more fun in what you’re doing. So what is the root cause? Is it you? Is it the business? Is it the people you meet? Is it because there isn’t enough money? Or are you simply too crabby for your own good? What’s getting you down?

Often, the answer is very simple. But to find it often takes some doing. If you wish, you can use the services of a psycho-whatever-ist to help you. But that’s not my cup of tea. In my past I’ve wasted time, energy and money on those. I felt far worse and my wallet had taken on a serious case of anaemia.

How To Identify Your Social Networking Fatigue

1) Ask a friend or two who has known you for some time to give you their opinion on why you are not having fun anymore. They can give you a comparison on when you had been the life of the party to why you hate the social network today.

2) Ask yourself the questions above one by one. Check through how you feel over each one. Your own feelings will tell you what is wrong. If you’re not having fun over a situation, that is likely the cause. Once again, you can check back with a friend or two.

Once you pin the cause of your malaise down, your entire outlook changes and you’ll suddenly become the life of your own party. It’s as simple as that.

Social Networking – So What?

I have found for myself that this is so important for my whole outlook. You see, people do business with people. A business is not a person. The most prolific business people do business best with people they know and who know them. People are more likely to do business with people they like.

If you find yourself hating the social networking scene, you’re likely to be faltering in your business too. Again, people like to be liked. And if you’re on the same page, you’re not likely to have the same business rapport.

Many people, including the most successful entrepreneurs and myself included have learnt that the hard way. The sooner I realised this was a problem, the sooner I returned to the trail of good business.

Listen twice speak once in the Art of Listening and the Art of Speaking. Ask the right questions like the great orators' interaction of the perfect mastermind. God gave us two ears and one mouth.

God gave us two ears and one mouth. The wiser amongst us listen twice and speak once. However, most of us reverse that ratio. And we wonder why the world is such a noisy place. It really is very difficult to listen when there are so many voices going at once. Problems go unanswered simply because the important ears are not there to hear you. The mouth within that head is still making too much noise.

Listening Before Acting

Art of Listening

Yes, it’s an art. Like in the martial arts, it takes discipline to observe, listen and ask the right questions. It then takes practice of the real thing for many years and many hours in a day to excel. You offer the love and trust of the master or one who teaches you to heart and with greatest of respect. So too do you carry this ideal to the real world. In real life the true expert knows his or her worth and will observe, listen and understand before acting. As in martial arts so too we listen.

Listening to someone or reading from a book or to an audio is really to learn about the other person. You’re filling the shoes of the speaker. You are feeling the nuances, the direction of the story and whence it was derived. It is a stream of time being absorbed by you, the listener.

Art of Speaking

The speaker is the story teller. He or she is taking the stream of time, from the past whence the story began to unfold, relates it in the present and finds a place for it in the future. These are the great speeches. Listen to any of the historical orators like Socrates or Martin Luther King Jr. and you’ll be ultimately inspired right into your very soul.

There’s no need to tell each one to attend clubs like Toastmasters if you observe the simple rules of listening well before you speak. As you observe and fill the life of the speaker of the moment, you can relate well within the energy of the moment in return. Simply put, the better you understand the story (or question), the better you can speak your answer. And in return, your question will then become far more intelligent. We have all encountered people who appear to ask far better questions than all others in an audience. You should talk to such a person. He or she is a great listener and very likely has great answers.

Listen and Speak as Mastermind

If you have noticed the reverence and silence of an enraptured audience, all have fallen into the energy of listening. Minds and energies are one. This interaction of speaker and listeners has become one great mastermind.

That is why a great story being told well can enrapture the audience. Measure the resonance and you’ll be astounded that everyone are in sync with each other. It’s as though all the energies of mind, body and soul are vibrating as one, which they are. Remember the edification of religious sermons that we are one, we are brethren and we are god’s children? Since we are made in the image of god, we are all alike. We have the powers that are alike.

When we listen intently, the speaker speaks with clarity. We have engaged our energies without noise, but understanding of each other’s wants and needs.

Other Forms of Noise or Listening

Noise is everywhere. There are advertisements, books, newspapers, televisions, cars, dogs, industry, etc. All these noises have their own character and speak their own language. However, it is unfortunate that to try and be heard above the crowd, they shout their loudest. Lights try to shine their brightest and ads try to make themselves grab your attention even if you don’t ever want to know they are there. That tends to make us shout even louder of become stimulation deaf. We’ve often refused to listen anymore to anything because of over stimulation.

Do we listen to the shopper asking questions anymore? The sales person is likely not to listen and brush you off to the complaints department, who never really listens anyway. Just fill in the complaints form they say. We don’t spend a lot of time or attention to read the instructions and ask really incoherent questions. Ever wonder why you often get equally dumb answers?

You see, dumbing down in our senses gets dumbing down in response. It’s a vicious cycle.

Try using the art of listening and the art of speaking and you’ll see the fantastic results of the perfect interaction. Remember to listen twice before you speak just once.

Ask yourself if you have the fortitude to repeat successful steps. When you have accomplished many issues or projects with the same attitude, the same goal setting, the same methods of financing, the same checklist to find your products, the same ways to find experts, etc., you very well know that success is always there. These are the basic steps you take and you expect the same result. Success is always your expectation and no less.

Is repeating something you do over and over again and expecting the same result insanity?

Success is built one brick at a time.

You’re Insane When:
You are trying to accomplish something but fail at it repeatedly with the same steps with the expectation of differing results. And if those repeated accomplishments you seek never change. If it fails, let’s try the same thing again hoping it might change for the better. But it drives you nuts. Yes, you’re insane or driving yourself into it.

You’re Perfectly Sane When:
You are trying to accomplish your goal or purpose with a series of steps. These steps give you positive results. The next time you do them, you do the very same thing again. Most people would be totally bored to tears, but you persevere. This are steps to being successful. In fact, do these long enough and often enough, you’ll be enjoying life on the beaches of the world.

Success Built One Brick AT A Time

Success is built one brick at a time. Think about that. It seems a boring challenging task to many people, so they never even try. Most of the rest simply are in awe of the whole scale of the project, so they give up. Then most of the remaining candidates get bored and throw in the towel. They deride the people who have achieved significant wealth as being filthy rich and expect handouts. In fact, these are the common habits of the insanely poor and failure driven people.

The one or two who are eventually admired and reap the rewards are the very ones who do not give up when bored. They continue harder and faster when the job gets more massive. Yes, they build their buildings one brick at a time with love, care and joy. They become successful, but are never taken aback when they are considered to be insanely rich. They will enjoy their mansions and a very good rewarding lifestyle after truly working for it all. They in fact appreciate all the good people who have done so, hence those special clubs they go to mingle with their like minded people. Who cares when you can enjoy the fruits of your joyful labours?

You do something over and over again to get the same result. Who cares what anyone else thinks? When you are expecting the same result in what you are doing, and you experience success, keep repeating it.

Fairy tales do come true. Networking trolls exist. I thought these were just conspiracy stories and gripes from unsuccessful networkers. But these creatures hiding in the dark corners of a computerized place slither out to claw at the more interesting speakers and writers with truthful content. Many truth seekers are regularly at the receiving end of these attacks.

Trolls Are Conspiracies And Hate Christmas

Internet Trolls hiding behind keyboards

Who are these networking or internet trolls? They are either nutcases or idiots who love to cause pain to others while hiding behind some dark computerized cave. And then you have those who are literally well organized trouble makers whose only cause is to spread dissention, fear and doubt. I wonder who pays them? They insult and we should all do the same to them by shining more light their way and on the truth of what truth seekers provide. Trolls, by and large are rude and cowardly. They claim to bring out truth but lie everywhere and about everything.

Beware, the successful truth seekers. These creatures that hate daylight also loathe the mere scene of joy. You bring light and ease the pain and suffering to as many people as possible into the world and be assured they will come. My son and his friends call them trolls. On the web, these younger generations actually do not like them at all. Sure, they love a good laugh now and then. But the trolls’ intent is to spread discontent and spoil any and all good news. There’s nothing funny about that.

Find a great man or woman giving the truth about solving their life’s problems and teaching them to do it all on their own, and sure enough, here they come. Snide remarks appear in the news. Newspapers carry snippets of such tactless malcontent. The internet receives snide remarks and links to content intended to hurt and injure the good newsmaker. How is it that these pieces of ‘mal-content’ slip through unchecked? News aggregators insist they scan and ban poor or bad content. Yet these slip through or are they actually allowed?

Now, why do I not link such pieces of content as more ‘hard’ proof? Well, it get a little difficult online because these snippets along with their victims’ messages do not stay long on the web. They are dismissed very quickly. But you know and understand what I mean. And you know trolls exist to spoil Christmas for those who want them and create them for others.

Bring On More Light

Trolls hate light of truth. So, let’s shine more light on them. These trolls only real power is to spread dissention and doubt. When you see the result of their comments on individuals who blow the whistle on big corporations or government misdoings, you will begin why they are trying to cover up those issues. Are they hiding the truth and diverting the truth from the readers’ eyes? “Who paid them?” is what you may ask. Then you may see idiots who want to be @#$%^! Or perhaps these same ones, on other reports either online or in the newspapers or even in a speech, you begin to wonder who they may be. They seem so well organized!

In fact, probably the most effective cure is to counter them at their own game. The teens I know of actually go out of their way to gang together and literally attack these troll writers online. They have found these tactics very effective. The trolls literally try to defend themselves instead of attacking their intended victims. They get drowned out and sometimes flushed out of their hiding. And reading those posts and comments can be very enlightening to who they are. You as an individual can do the same and I have found others will follow your lead.

Claim your right to truth and free speech. Whenever you see a great report or a speech or an online piece of work, give your support. It’s this kind of positivity that drives all these negative troll work into the garbage and deep dark smelly pits where they belong. I, we, and my friends have been trolls and their masters targets for far too long.

Happy Christmas every day to the networking trolls.

Network extensively and attend business meetings if you want people to know you and your business well. When you network, what is your intention?

When we network, we are getting to know people for various reasons. But these days, it is much more than just to get a project going or simply making friends. Networking success has become much more sophisticated and often purposeful. However, what does one do to make networking fruitful rather than a waste of time? Here are 10 networking gems.

Networking In Any Situation

1) Networking is like a business.
In fact, networking these days is often a catch phrase of business meetings. Once realized, you come prepared with your business card or some form of contact document like a pamphlet or even a CD. This is so that your contacts remember you. You’re promoting.

2) Note and remember your contact.
Always get your contacts’ accredition (contact info) and make a quick note to contact him or her on the specific topic. Write it down and call the next day about it or when ever asked to.

3) Networking for a business.
Many companies require you to network extensively to make sales or build a client list. That’s good business. But do they know you? You must keep up and follow through with your contacts so that they become part of your network of people you know. Bigger and more responsive client lists equals more income.

4) May I Call You Regarding…
When networking, you will be meeting many strangers. Small talk is often the case. Done right, you will all be calling each other. But if curiosity is strong enough, ASK to call the new contact who will now become a prospect to show him or her your product or service or reason to call (you may be fund raising). Also, did you make a great case for yourself to generate curiosity?

5) Mindset that everyone wants to be your customer.
It is a positive and powerful mindset to have…only if you believe in your product, your company, your compensation and your own motivation.

6) Not everyone will care.
This is a killer for many new sales people, especially new MLMers. Personal development to believe in #5 above matters a great deal here. But you see, it’s so what, next please.

7) Out of many, few will want to know you.
Most people will not have any interest in knowing you let alone what you want to sell them. Realize this and you’ll have an easier time.

8) Dissapointment sucks.
Most will have a brave face on but are feeling like the world just caved in on them. After networking sessions, just ask and you’ll find many very exhausted and unhappy people leaving. Their energy had deflated. Dissapointment takes the life out of you. That is the wrong attitude. You see, you should care, but not too much.

9) Have Fun.
How many people actually have fun networking? Very, very few. Find fun lovers in such meetings and you’re in good company. They and you will become attractive to others around you. You’re happy, and people want to know you. Also, people will still smile at you and you’ll easily make friends.

10) Intention or Purpose.
When you network, what is your intention? The best one it seems is to intent to meet and know the best people to know who are the best for your business or for you. It is a cultivated feeling and practiced behaviour. Always go with the purpose of Attracting Great people, not trying to catch them. Have you ever tried netting fish? They all swim away as fast as they can don’t they? So better to use bait and
If you give up, roll over and be dead or remain in self pity forever. It is from here that the will to become driven arises and you will become the one whom you admire and desire most.

“I’ll Show Them!” What is it that triggers that indomitable will, to be driven to succeed? They put you down, they make fun of you and want you to be that “failure” known as yours truly. Every man and woman; adult or child comes to a point in life when change must occur. That point is different for each of us.

Rock Bottom and Cornered

Driven To Win

You’ve heard of the saying hitting rock bottom and the only place is up. How about being cornered too? Then combine the two and put yourself into the deepest, darkest pit, worse than a mile deep mine shaft. Believe it or not, I know of people who have actually been there, survived it and come back even stronger! And at least one of whose story I will in part tell here.

Now, in such a case, will you want to live on or simply roll over and play dead? You will realize by now that soul can separate from the body and find bliss. But what if your mind, the interface between your body and soul, wants to live on to achieve that unfulfilled purpose or incredible dream. What then? Will you fight on to win the days to come? You know somehow that you are your soul and will do so. But what of the body; can you survive the onslaught of pain to come?

Pain is inevitable; everyone will experience them. But suffering is bound by choice; you choose to remain with your pain.

Driven To Choose

The devil draws near.
Your hour is at hand.
The angel within sings at last you hear.
Arise and claim yours upon this land.

Even at death’s door, a bedridden person can decide to live on despite rotting flesh and a near empty mind. In the bible, so in modern times, has that Lazarus occured. But it is no less a miracle, a tale of survival, then recovery, then bliss of living in great wealth. Yes, folks this can and has happened. By choice, life can return and you can live on in greatness. That is the choice you make.

So, what was I griping about? My joints ache, I’m broke, my kids hate me and I’ve got nothing to live for. That’s suffering talking. You will only remain here by choice. What do you choose? To live? Turn around your life to make really good money wth a nice nest egg and a residual income. Rebuild your relationships. Do your will. You can. Afterall, you’re not dead yet.

Driven, Success, Bliss

I’m relating what I’ve actually seen as a living example. I’m telling you this for myself, my very own experience that has brought me bliss. I want you to have it too.

When one has been backed into the darkest place known to humans, it’s your choice to remain and suffer. You can take the short way out (some do) or do you choose to end your suffering that you have journeyed yourself into? If you find yourself still languishing and you have been trying for many yeras to get out of that hole, have you really given it your all or have you “sort of tried sparingly”. The winners of their success develop one habit and that is their thoughts of their dreams never waned and always made them feel happy.

Take full responsibility. You must find that dream to drive toward. That is your focus. Build it step by step as a series of goals that you know you can accomplish. Keep your eye on the golden ball of your dreams all the time. And that is your ultimate joy. Anything that tries to stop you, a dreamstealer, an obstacle or a negative event are all only driving you faster toward your ultimate objective. That is your bliss.

That is the success you create. Planning for success leads to greater goals and successes. Once you’ve tasted the bitternes of total loss, you are only defeated if you surrender. If you give up, roll over and be dead or remain in self pity forever. It is from here that the will to become driven arises and you will become the one whom you admire and desire most. You will become the dreams you had promised to be.

Networking With Like Minded People

Imagine yourself as a very quiet and private person who now faces some challenges like finding a new school for your child in a new neighbourhood. You do not know anything about that new place but you realize that people who live in the neighbourhood certainly do. What do you do? You find a local ladies club, or a local library reading club or a school visitation day or some local association.

Then you talk about your purpose for being there and start asking questions about the area. You’ll want to know how their kids turn out and the about the teachers for example. Perhaps you want to find out about the school principal and transportation efficiency.

Isn’t this what you’d do if you’re looking to move into a new neighbourhood? I most certainly would do my due diligence when taking on a new business even if it was a small one with a very low investment cost. I would want to know it’s structure, training or know how availability, how many hours I’d need to commit to it and such.

But the most important thing of all is to ask as many people I can find about that business. Which means, I will want to network with knowledgeable people to help educate me about the benefits and pitfalls that particular business may have in store for me, that I know nothing about. All I have is my determination and desire to know that the network of like minded people will help me.

Network With Like Minded People

Above, I wrote about networking to solve problems. But it is really to find facts about issues I knew little or nothing about from people in the know. As a happy coincidence, these same people you went to, you did so about a certain subject or issue. Therefore, you are actually networking with like minded people because, they know the very same issues you are interested in.

It’s just like joining a golf club to learn more about golf and to up your game. You will invariably meet and learn from like minded people. Some of them will most definitely have the knowledge and skills to improve your game.

Likewise, if it is business you are hoping to improve, you seek out a club that can truly help you. The hall mark of a great business club is one that keeps you coming with great expectations. When you leave each meeting or seminar of this club, ask yourself if you always feel empowered. If you do, that is a club worth it’s weight in gold. The people in this club help and educate each other with their businesses. There is true reciprocation. The atmosphere is one of great enjoyment of being there and positiveness.

From time to time, all of us get caught up in the frenzy of the situation and feel totally overwhelmed. How can you tell if that is happening in your life? It’s a feeling that is a result of the events and circumstances that comes up and kicks you in the head, hard. It leaves you reeling from the impact.

Feeling Overwhelmed

You should ask yourself if you’re being overwhelmed when you do things but seem to take one step forward but fall back two. And there seems to be stress, stress, and more stress. Stop and ask yourself these 3 questions.
1) Do you sometimes feel panicked by what’s on your plate?
2) Do you struggle with making decisions or setting priorities?
3) Do you feel your life is somehow off track?

If your answers are yes, yes, and yes, congratulations. You’ve just stopped yourself before the feeling of being overwhelmed sets in. You will know it by the familiar feeling of fear mixed with exhaustion, guilt and resentment.

All is not lost. The way to stop this potentially nasty situation from getting worse is quite simple actually. The trick is to know realize that you are at the short end of the stick and must take evasive action immediately.

Plan Your Steps

Plan your steps. Yes, some of us have those dreams that are so driven by burning desires. And it’s not so unusual that it is usually those people with these burning desires that fall into this feeling of being overwhelmed so often. You see, when we have our eyes on the ball, the dream, it’s also not unusual we simply forget to plan our steps.

Plan your steps toward your burning desire in stages. The adjust them as situations and circumstances occur. When accomplished, go to the next step or goal. Also, sometimes these goals become quite lofty or very testing. This is when you must take it one step at a time.

Trying to juggle too many balls at once and you’ll lose control of the act completely. So it is any wonder that you fall into the trap of feeling totally helpless? Mind you, your dreams are still there and they still make you smile, but you will start to feel that it may not be worth it after all.

Losers give up at this point. But the winners, always find a way to overcome this situation. Winners will do what is necessary and inconvenient. Winners will ask for mentorship and advice and act on them. Winners also know to cast off their false pride and resentment in order to achieve their goals and feel proud of their successes.
