The best way to help a brother relief of a burden is to help him focus his mind on its total opposite. Remember this saying, “He Ain’t Heavy He’s My Brother”? But is your help expanding the problem for both of you or really creating a new reality of relief. If giving a hand means he has become a burden to you, you are not helping but expanding it. Before you begin, think and wish for a better way to solve that burden and teach him to do so. Then you can begin to make his work light.

Focus His Mind On What Provides A Better Way

Unlike the ox overburdened by the plough you should focus on relief or the better way.

This idea is often completely forgotten in the heat of the moment. In the middle of a fight, you want to turn the energies into peace. A super heavy burden or load might be next to impossible to move but find a way to make it light or easier to move. An ill person might be moaning and groaning about the disease but focus his mind on what lifestyle makes him happy like running freely on the beaches.

The error of human reasoning as has been taught for millennia is to fight against the problem. The harder one pushes, the more one thinks about this ‘reality’ it grows bigger and bigger like some super tumour blighting upon our lives. Fearing any change like taking our eyes off the problem might make it get us while we are not looking is a reaction that is so difficult to let go of.

But to gain relief, one must turn the belief that things are going wrong to things are going right. The impact might not be immediate change for the better, but relief begins to manifest immediately. First, it occurs in our minds. It’s just like being told by a powerful godly figure that hold on tight because help is near, so hang on. Courage comes because fear is replaced by the relief of hope and then faith. As you hang on for longer you realise that your belief in help is helping you already. Ask survivors of any potentially hopeless situation and they will tell you that it is the power of our minds that creates that determination to succeed. And miracles do come true as your belief in salvation is nigh.

Don’t Make His Burden Yours

You see, instead of helping to lift each burden that comes along, yes, you are helping but pretty soon the sequence has become more loads being shared. The problem of the loads has not become light work but slavery. Maybe you’ve decided to get involved financially as well as a working principal. But pretty soon you realise you’ve just paid a lot of money for a very time and energy consuming job. Now, what have you gotten yourself into you ask? How can you get out of it?

Well, first of all do not get into it without being in the right thinking to make it a better place to be. You see, you most definitely got in there thinking you had a bargain but you failed to think of focusing on the business as a great cash cow or perhaps a prosperous venture. You most definitely didn’t get into it because you felt really good about the business but saw the problems only. You actually focussed on its problems and that’s what you got.

Getting out of it now becomes that change of focus on what the problems are and then believing the relief is true. Of course all these takes work but it should give you fun. Otherwise, you may consider cutting your losses. But if there is still more than just hope, perhaps you can still create a magnificent obsession with creating a wonderful investment of your time, effort and money. And you get all this from dealing with a friend’s or brother’s burden.
