Today, I mesmerised myself and almost scared myself silly. I went for a walk that turned into an amazing sub-conscious mesmerising episode. As I began my walk I must have focussed so deeply on the biggest dream I have ever had and got into a hypnotic state. Now, the mind and soul in connection is the ultimate state of being. There is no fear of anything and things get done. I have never taken the caution of just using my intelligence to do anything as advised by the thinking tutors. Can you imagine the surprise when you open your eyes and time, space and a long walk had passed?
This article is not to encourage you to do the same but for you not to panic if it ever happens. My mentors have told me me that they do this often enough and in fact it is simply a sign that effective meditative practice has brought me closer to the power of what is natural.
Operating In The Sub-conscious Realm
As I looked at a stream in front of me very near my home, I realised I must have walked several kilometres sub-consciously. How was it that I was so engrossed in my thoughts I had become basically a walking robot being guided by the sub-conscious and the conscious mind having been turned off? Really, I can’t remember the walk at all. But looking through my camera, I had been walking without anyone guiding me. Amazingly, I walked through the forest, crossed several bridges, avoiding some rocks, people and pets. In effect, I rather felt like a ghost!
I recall what I always did when meditating and this must have triggered the amazing effect. When preparing to go into a deep meditative state, I have been taught to first put my intentions into place as I move my brain waves into alpha. Then as the meditative deepening state takes over, I am already moving into theta brain waves. Some say I go deeper than that, but that’s for another discussion. But in short, I am resonating at one with the earth and this is where I gain many insights, unrestricted by any ego or resistance. The intentions are answered in the most beautiful way. I am in essence communicating with the wisdom of all the ages.
The Sub-conscious Walk
No, it’s not Voodou or anything supernatural. I am not one for sleep walking either. But being within deep meditation has been something practised for many years. I also know that in that state, I am not defenceless either. There is always an all knowing someone or presence that snaps me out of any trance if there is something that must be dealt with or if there is danger.
When I started my walk I was in a state of real happiness. After all, I was intending to enjoy myself walking in a semi-hypnotic trance (but not quite) while thinking of and meditating about my new found and fantastic endeavour. I was simply allowing all the vibrations or knowledge that I have been inviting come to me. Doing this before, it was simply fun when you come out of that very happy state of mental being.
The very last thing I recalled before zoning out was that I was looking in the distance letting the thoughts of my great desire flow. Now, it was in fact a mildly stormy day with sun, then cloud and rain with high winds. It was amazing none of that shook me out of it. I remember my friend telling me of a time he flew a plane but required extreme ability he never knew he could do. He said he was in such a deep trance like state but somehow, his entire being did what he intended and everyone aboard were safe.
As I look upon this bubbling brook, I can see my own reflection looking back at me in that peaceful, happy state with a just a touch of a Mona Lisa type smile upon my face. Life is just wonderful. Perhaps I’ll do it again knowing that there is more to our being than just a brain and a body.
