Try as you might to control stress, it often begins to control you first. You can recognize this monster when it comes a calling. You feel anxious; fear grips you; guilt burns you; pressure keeps you totally deflated. You simply cannot cope with life. However, there are ways to emulate people who seem to control stress with ease.
Stress Gets You Down

Control Stress Like Taming a Tiger
Does stress get you down? The main problem with stress is that when it comes, it controls you even before you realize it. You may not even admit it’s there, but everyone else will know it.
This monster can attack your health (strange headaches, heart problems, etc.) and damage our relations with others – especially those near and dear. Even our work and business can suffer adversely – who wants to deal with a grouching tiger?
But you can put that tiger to sleep or better yet, create a huge purring cat that will do your bidding.
8 Ways To Control Stress
1) At the very first growl; take a deep breath and count to five extremely slowly as you release your breadth. You’ve just averted a knee jerk reaction to people, events and circumstances that cause you more stress.
2) Someone makes a nasty remark. Think carefully for a good response or no response if you can’t think of one without even growling – and instead, SMILE! Do things that make you laugh.
3) Exercise regularly. Daily at home and at work, practice Yoga, or Tai-Chi (my favourite), or go to the local gym and learn some good stretching exercises too. When your body feels good, you’ll feel better.
4) Eat good food for your nutritional type. Consume whole food supplements too. Drink good, clean filtered water. A healthy body keeps you feeling good all year round.
5) Pick up some good books, videos, audios or even TV programs to help with your affirmations of personal growth – repeat them at work, play, family, etc.
6) Do fun or relaxing things with family and friends regularly. You can even start to ask for opinions to your stressful problems. It’s amazing what such personal touch and closeness can do to relieve you of that energy and life sapping monster.
7) Go for walks. Walking and looking into the distance is always a stress reliever. Visit beautiful places. Wonder at nature and appreciate them. Relax on the beach. In other words, learn to relax. Or take up sports.
8) Take up a hobby or a serious money making enterprise you love. It’s all about having fun while you live on earth.
