Create successful outcomes and always feel better about everything in your life. Personal Mastery of your self-growth can be understood as an intensely developed habit of improving yourself continuously. In other words, it’s your lifelong personal development. This is powerful.
However, mastering oneself is a confusing journey sometimes. But one’s purposeful intention will always steer you into the right way of dealing with the intended purpose. Even masters you know have their minds take a day off too.
You probably know of some masterful people whom you’d like to emulate. But the best habit you should emulate from them is that of your constant improvement. You know the cliché, “When the Student is ready the Master appears.” Thus it makes sense to always be learning therefore a mentor will always be present to help you deal with unwanted circumstances effectively.
Here’s a true story of a situation not too long ago.
Writer’s Block!
That dreaded death-knell of all writers and for one who is a wannabe wealthy.
If you remember attending a loved one’s funeral that’s how I felt. It couldn’t get worse right? Well it did. I got hurt and my trusty crutches were pressed into service amidst all those boxes. I’m still pulling underwear out of them too. No, no, no! Life is a jumbled mess after the move.
Now, it’s stomach flu from somewhere…and I can’t find my supplements.
All the while, my mind has gone BLANK! Words don’t come. Talk about losing one of one’s dominant senses. “I am crippled, handicapped.” Huge bills are a comin’ and I’m WAYYYY behind now. I’m in real financial trouble…
But wait a minute. I’m worrying about the future too much. Too many expectations about the impending crash… There’re still 2 weeks before they are due.
I’m hyperventilating, panicking and getting sick because I can’t seem to stop my thoughts, my mind from wanting to explode.
Calming Down
I don’t know about you, but I found training my mind to trigger an automatic response to settle down works. Here are my 5 steps to feeling better:
1) Settle down my mind and go into myself, my body, my soul.
2) Stop blaming myself. I’m just too damn exhausted mentally and physically.
3) Stop worrying about it and leaving the creativity brakes on.
4) Do something pleasurable. Go for a walk and let my mind wander.
5) Go do it now! Enjoy life and smell the spring air. There’s rain and then the bright sunshine. The sweet air is fresh and FREE.
Ahhh, free. Like that bird hovering overhead looking down at me. Yes, this EAGLE was circling overhead. Even as I walked, this magnificence of nature kept it’s circling over me. Was this the message of renewal? Telling me I can fly again. I am free to choose. I feel better, so much better. Positiveness has returned.
Getting Clarity
One thing I’ve noticed is that every time I get real CLARITY on something in my business…something I want or something that needs to happen… the answer appears almost automagically. But only after I am willing to let it go…for a while.
You know what I mean. A huge deadline approaches and you’re totally stuck. The more you try the more you fall behind. There has always been a cure for that for me. Have the courage to let the entire project rest. Then take a good break. It will come back with a rush.
This is the 3rd article I’m writing this morning. I’ve just created an important one for my business site too. I’m writing to all of you. Words come without effort now.
It’s just something I’ve experienced repeatedly. Get clear, clarity of mind, of purpose and all creativity comes flooding back.
And today, that clarity happened when I stepped away from the computer for a few
hours…
Try it. Take some time and NOT THINK about where your business is going. You already have your intentions. It’s time to allow the things you desire to come your way.
Then when you’re clear, think about your project, your business or your life. What would have to happen to make you happy with your progress? They all come rushing back in Great Clarity.
Without worry. Without stress. Allow myself to be a student again.
Write down your answer and let it all happen.
By this time, my mind is buzzing with the right ways and ideas I can use immediately. Who’s speaking to me? Abraham Lincoln’s words appear. A mentor from decades ago seems to be guiding me. A book I read last week about priority management is showing me what to begin with. Are they my mentors or is it just memories teaching me?
Now I write down how I’m going to get there. It sits on my computer I see each time I start writing.
Notice I do not lay out the entire plan related to time. You see, I’ve written so many business plans which always cite a time frame for success. The strange thing about my life is that the events, the people or even the actual situations that are presented for me to take action only happens when I am ready to take advantage of it.
The plans as related to time restricts when accomplishments occur. If they don’t, doubt hits you. When I know I will accomplish my goal, it has been my experience it happens well before my planned time frame.
