Wise ones say that if you can gauge happiness, you know the measure of any person’s wealth and health. Happiness is something that cannot be measured in any specific way. There really is no measurement for each person because we all have the feeling of happiness differently. However, you can have a happiness gauge for yourself and literally build your happiness up as you go about your day. And with this happiness gauge, you can identify what makes you so joyous that you do more of them or simply drop or alter the way you go about doing anything. Think about it. Wouldn’t you be far more productive if you can do everything you love during the day every day? And wouldn’t visits to the doctors for what ails you almost disappear?

Happiness is a gauge unique to each person. What level of happiness do you feel about this pond scene?

Make Your Happiness Gauge

This is a gauge that becomes the more effective if it is made as simply as possible. The less complicated it is, the happier you will feel using it. Makes sense doesn’t it? Therefore, NO computers are allowed here. All you need are:

1) Your attitude to be tuned into happiness;

2) White paper note book (you can use your regular daily note taking book);

3) Pen or pencil. If you’re writing notes, then try using a blue pen but it isn’t necessary.

4) Commit to 21 days although from 17 to 24 days is fine, to doing this simple program. You want to make a happiness habit after all.

There! You have your happiness gauge.

How To Use Your Happiness Gauge

It’s so simple it will make you happy. First, take that book everywhere with you. Then the moment something gives you a happy moment, even for a second, make that first mark into your notebook. If you feel like writing a note, go ahead. Then you look for the next thing to make or write about making you have that happy moment.

I want to remind you to be mindful of looking for these good feeling moments throughout your day and make your mark in that notebook. You see, in a bad mood, all happiness is passed by without any acknowledgement. You want to see them, experience them and then acknowledge these good moments by noting them into your notebook.

You might find a little child smiling at you from the stroller. You absentmindedly help an older person carry her bag. Perhaps you let another driver out of a tight spot. These are all worthy of acknowledgement. Do this mindfully for several days and if you are doing them diligently, you will find more and more to write home about.

Your day is actually filled with fun things that can make you smile. And then as the law of attraction kicks in, you are doing just about everything that makes you smile. Even things that made you want to scream become a simple shrug and you smile it off. Note it in your book. And by the way, you may no longer have time to make notes anymore. Just make your marks into your notebook. That is sufficient acknowledgement.

Why Use A Happiness Gauge At All?

At one time or another during our lifetimes, we have come to a place where the mere thought of smiling turns us into angry flaming dragons. Happiness seem to have gone up in flames and everything we do seem to come to something we dislike or worse, degenerate into something loathsome and hateful. That is a sure sign that we lack happiness in our lives.

If you’re not convinced, then look carefully at your investment portfolio, your endeavour to do another business or even the situation at your place of work. How are they all faring? I’m very sure that many issues that come to you are not to your liking. Somehow, you have to make excuses, you brown nose your managers a lot and you almost came to blows with your investment manager too. There is little or no respect for you even in the supermarket check-out.

As you can see, there is always unhappiness awaiting you everywhere you go because that is what you are expanding on all the time. And there are things and ways to help you break out of that slump and gain a strong foothold on your happiness by Divine Right.

Gauge Your Happiness

Check yourself and how you feel each day. When you do things do they mean a smile or are they lighter and more fun? In fact, does your investment portfolio seem to look fatter? Perhaps your boss gave you a pat on the back for a job well done (he missed it because you were such a grouch before). And you feel you have found a business which you can do part time without requiring much capital that made you feel really positive about. You always answer in such a cheery way the telemarketers hang up (try this it works!).

Then as a last thing to do before you turn off the lights while you’re in bed, look through your notebook and count the number of marks you have made that day and recall them for a few minutes. Those of you who have opted to write notes about your happy moments will read them of course. Now, if that makes you smile (and they should), simply put another check mark on your notebook and give yourself a goodnight. You realise you’re already a happier person than this morning. Perhaps tomorrow, you may now dare to follow your bliss. Pleasant dreams in happiness!
