Be the Inspiration to motivate your team. Inspiration is what followers feeling without a firm direction look to. These followers, because they are looking for something to motivate them feel a sense of emptiness. Once their need to fill that void overcomes their lack of determination, they will look for the inspiration and leadership of team values that they resonate with. Now that you’ve got them listening to you, are you that team leader who will be the inspiration of your team’s values?

Inspiration For Team Values

Team Values

What are team values? Is it something you use to drive all your members into cheer leaders as you bust your butt in your efforts? Or perhaps they require coddling and endless coaching so that they never get to make a mistake? If you do both, you’re not leading your team. You’re carrying them as an extra load.

If truth be told, if your team are hired guns to support you…meaning if they are paid to do a job as you dictate, then they will only do as much as you require them to. If you have a team who know they are fully trusted, they will be fully motivated to do far more than any salary will encourage them to accomplish.

Ensuring trust lives in each of your team members will open their abilities up to offer their ideas openly, they become far more creative and each supports the other. This is again a sort of mastermind that is formed. This trust begins from the leader – you. You can only lead through example. You become the inspiration for them to follow.

Inspired Team

The team will only run as fast you do or as slow as you demonstrate. And this is how I would suggest you do to get them to be firing on all cylinders. Yes, you inspire them, but the greatest measure of inspiration is when those you have inspired become motivated to emulate you and then expand upon it. Meaning, they become leaders in their own right.

How you can tell if they are doing what you had intended as leaders? It’s always simple. Remember when I mentioned they will emulate the leader? Well, try this and you’ll see its effectiveness.

1) The Use of Language = what they say is what they think about.
Proven time and again, what they say becomes what they are thinking about. You find the negativity and the winners in the organisation by monitoring how each member in the team presents themselves and in anything they do.

2)  What they think about is what they believe.
Since our minds are hard wired to our mouths, what we believe affects what we say. It ties in nicely with number 1 above. But the importance of this fact cannot be ignored. Even if someone tries to use the words that appear positive, their speech patterns invariably give them away. In fact, their actions will tell the true thoughts.

3) What they believe is their action effectiveness (actions with the right thinking = effectiveness).
You’ll see that the belief in success and being positive works. They are the can-do personalities. They get things done. Successful people do what is inconvenient which is what the unsuccessful will not. That said, the non-believers will balk where the ones who will make a team prosper and ultimately the organization, will go the extra distance.
