A Personal Growth Workshop Experience

Personal growth is my passion. And happily, I found myself at such a workshop about love and assertiveness. I was able to share with this group my experiences and also learn from them their experiences. I must say I was looking forward to the transformational messages promised.

Personal Growth Workshop

In comparison to say a Toastmasters meeting, I personally felt the real challenge and the ability to share the real life experiences of everyone’s self growth.  We let go of the need to impress others and the judges in order to score points and gain merit.  At this meeting the merit is our own self-gratification with our personal development.

In my experience with expectations through the years, what you feel good about tends to come true. Expect a positive outcome, and you’ll experience it. So it was. I expected to meet a positive group and my expectation came true. The participants were eager to share and help each other with suggestions. That’s being more than positive. They were supportive, friendly, and wonderfully open minded.

The Love and Assertiveness Transformation Workshop

We took turns to explain about ourselves and how the week went and shared our challenges.
And already, the participants were there to encourage each other to become more assertive and win back their self esteem and their emotional freedom.

We were able to deal with our personal growth issues such as fear, love, doubt, worry, positive attitude, assertiveness and emotion. We can only change ourselves and not the other person was the tone that everyone understood.

Now, the friendly atmosphere was further enhanced by the great food. Well, ok, I am rather partial to authentic east-asian fare, preferably at a reasonable price while still maintaining better quality. The cosy affair was well suited to the number of people in attendance. Workshop and seminar organizers pay attention here.

Jeff Fisher of Self-Transformation in Toronto did well to guide us through the discussions, putting us back on track. He reminded us with statements like ‘always come from love’ ‘be authentic and honest’ or ‘…open and listen without judgement’.

Transformation

Life is about transformation. We must develop and grow if we are to transform. After all, changes in life are inevitable.

Learning to be assertive is really learning how to deal with fear; the fear of rejection and worry.  In the end, it is about loving ourselves, accepting others and their roles within our place in life.

We are truly more than our body and mind. We are one energy connected with various extensions playing out our roles in life no matter where our journey takes us. All journeys are great and get better when we all are here co-creating our experiences.

Transformation through the practice of love and assertiveness can already be declared a success when just one person puts into practice what he or she learnt today.
