The game of life has its great uplifting moments but unfortunately also fraught with pitfalls. Life’s game when well played can make winners out of a losing proposition and make a winning one come with clockwork regularity. Snakes and ladders anyone?
Not To Play Means Not To Live

Life's Game of Snakes and Ladders
Life is full of surprises. There are the sudden ups as we encounter a ladder to a higher plane of living and go up there really fast. On the other hand, encountering one of those snakes really makes one feel bummed out and take the fast ride downward. If you chicken out and run and hide, that’s your life. Life is meant to be lived to the fullest. You give up and you lose. You’ll be known as “that loser”. And you know it. And to live means finding your dreams. Hiding in a cave or living under a rock will ensure that you do not encounter obstacles. That’s an idea for living in Utopia, but whose paradise is that?
To me, not to enjoy my life is really right next to death. In fact, it’s living death. At least when this body dies, I have a live that continues. I know of some people who have well and truly given up on their adventures like going to the supermarket, much less travel to the far corners of the earth. Even children are sometimes so frightened of the outside world they have no idea about what other kids play. They don’t even know laughter. Oh, the shame of it.
Counsellors and psychologists often remind us that such people are helpless and should be treated as such. This kind of thinking confuses me. Why keep these people continuously cooped up in their shell? It seems to me that encouraging them to find that ladder is the way to go. They, the despondent should be made to see the light of taking responsibility for their own lives and live!
Life Has It’s Snakes And Ladders
The highs and lows are what life is about. Get into the “zone” of doing things right and you’ll experience the ladders to a fast track toward what you have been desiring and working towards. That’s right, “working”. But also, in the language of people who are used to getting success, working is equal to having fun. Yep, they are actually enjoying all that so called work.
Then the darn snakes can scare the living daylights right out of the direction you are working for. But, again the successful know that this is only a detour to get you back on track and not a brick wall. They know the ladder is just around the corner.
The Differences Between Winners And Losers
You play the game and after all those ecstatic ups and incomprehensible downs, you come to the last toss of the dice. Will you make that final number or hit that last snake and give up?
The snakes and ladders game can be made to end when the last player reaches 100. As in life, that is so. However, the very sad fact is that the vast majority will never reach that threshold; that last step to the finish line. They almost always give up right when success scares the snakes into them. Fear and guilt and all those wasteful emotions spur them into giving up. When losers encounter a final obstacle and poof, there goes their so called dream!
The winners simply understand that those final little obstacles are really a series of fine tuning adjustments for them to laser in on their targeted objective. Understand the difference? Use any of your most powerful learning or understanding modalities; use your feelings, use your sense of taste, use your visual acuity, use your listening skills or even your extra sensory capabilities. Use them all. All the super successful people do. If you want all those spectacular results, you’ll do what they do. Emulate crossing the threshold with alacrity and live the life you admire, not from afar but right in it.

I always like to have a read about such things, my blog is related if you want to have a look round it please feel free. I have added yours to my bookmarks.
