Here’s a Classic Self Sabotaging
You’re being offered a part in a lucrative deal or venture. You got here after years of hard work on your personal success. But in your mind you immediately say, “What if this doesn’t work out? If it fails I’ve wasted all those years of hard work…all that money wasted…people will laugh at me.”
It’s about time to stop punishing yourself with the experiences of your past. What tortures you will hold you back from achieving your greatest success. It keeps sabotaging your prosperity, wealth, health and success.
Eliminate Self Sabotage
Let me share with you steps that you can take to eliminate what doesn’t work for you anymore and keep doing what works for you or adopt new ones. It may take awhile, but most people find it worth the read and subsequent effort.
1) You must be willing to take conscious effort to change.
This is changing your perception of yourself and your life experiences. Understand, in fact ADMIT that your past experience has guided and led you to where you are today. If you want a different outcome for your future, you begin by making changes to the present state, definitely not by worrying, thinking, contemplating the past and what ifs.
External forces or influences will often have a certain influence over you whether you are aware of them consciously or not. But you have the greater authority over your life not them. Meaning, regardless of all influences, you and only you can make the decision to create a different outcome. It is you who decides to change your life for the better. It’s your responsibility.
You will relinquish your power to them only when you do not want to be responsible and accept the consequences. For example; when you do not want to make a decision and you are afraid of the results. You ask someone else for their opinion and if things don’t work out, you use an excuse to shift the blame to someone else by saying, so and so caused this and that.
2) Love yourself unconditionally.
You will be amazed how creative you can be. You will discover the courage you had all along. The confidence that you had been seeking is in you already. Knowing yourself will help you raise your self-esteem. You will realize that you are unstoppable.
Another great gift of loving yourself unconditionally is ‘priority management’. You begin to put more important or valued priorities first and how you spend your time. You now have the ability to stop others from abusing your time through focusing on your priorities. You will also begin to let go of the past thoughts and beliefs that no longer serve your purpose in creating your prosperity. When you can discipline and recognize your priorities, you will be able to master your wealth and success.
Honour your own opinions, accept the decisions you make without regret, and the acceptance of the consequences without judgment. You contemplate and consider what was the lesson learnt from that experience and how can you relate to or teach others.
3) Feel Good About Your Chief Aim.
You will begin to focus more of your attention, energy, time and resources onto those things that you truly desire, want and need. The secret is: wherever you place your energy all or most of the time is where your success will be created.
There is one true purpose in life and that is to be happy. Let me clarify. Your chief aim that you are working on right now, for example you are working on making a million dollars a year. If the mere thought of it makes you excited and or happy despite all the things that may appear to be going against your appreciation, then you are very much on the right track.
You may wonder how you can be happy when you have so many troubles, problems, obstacles and pain. Quite honestly, even if the troubles, problems, obstacles and the pain were eliminated you will still not find happiness. The foundation of your happiness is not based on the external factors, circumstances and events you have created in your life. The external factors can elevate you or drown you but you have control. You and your happiness is not dependant on someone else or the events, but in your own thoughts of your choosing. In short, you choose to be happy or not despite your current circumstances.
The quest for your unconditional love for yourself gives you the reasons, the tools, and the power back to you to live your life in great fulfillment. This is one of the missions of your LIFE.
4) Be The Person You Desire.
You can be in the experience of being yourself whenever you are in action with the activities of your chief aim. Be aware of your performance and note if it is free of doubt, criticism, fear, complaints, anguish, hurt, or any other negative feelings. You engage your activities with faith, praise, confidence, acceptance, peace, courage and joy and you will ultimately find that the ‘respect and acceptance’ will be all around you. That feels like being active in your true calling.
The outside recognition can be approvals from your parents, family, friends, colleagues or acquaintances. They are another being just like you, only with the different experiences.
There is absolutely no need to limit your true potential. You can tell this from what you are doing right now. If you are unhappy even thinking about it, you are not following your chief aim. Your bliss is likely in something for more noble than you might realize. You might want to think of your success on a much larger scale than previously thought.
So why limit your potential? Your success is not what someone else tells you it is. It is what you want yourself to be happy in doing and becoming.
